BTS Members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook Initiate Military Enlistment Procedures
On the 22nd, their agency, Big Hit Music, announced, "RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have commenced the procedures for fulfilling their mandatory military service obligations," stating, "Further updates regarding their enlistment will be provided as they are determined."
The statement continued, "We request warm support and unwavering love for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as they fulfill their military duties and return in good health. We, as the agency, will continue to spare no effort in providing consistent support and affection for our artists."
BTS members had their enlistment postponed until the age of 30, in accordance with the revised military service law in 2020, with recommendations for deferral from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It is anticipated that the members will cancel their deferments and potentially enlist within the coming year or early the following year.
Previously, BTS members, starting with the eldest, Jin (30), as well as J-Hope (29) and Suga (30), have been fulfilling their military service obligations. Once the remaining 4 members complete their military service, it appears that the team could resume activities in 2025. All members have expressed their commitment to full group activities by signing a second exclusive contract with Big Hit Music.
